How Can I Get One Large File Instead Of Several 4GB/2GB Files?¶
The information you need to know may vary depending on the model and batch of your hardware.
If your hardware’s S/N is one of the formats below:
CN*********
CX*********
CV*********
Due to the special properties of FAT32, the single video file will be 4GB at most, and the recorded video will be split into multiple files. Using exFAT/NTFS USB storage devices, the single recorded file will be 16GB at most(Please also make sure to select “16GB” in the “File Size” of the setting page.). Once the recorded file size exceeds these limitations accordingly, it will generate a new video file automatically to continue the record. (If needed, you may use bundled Windows software MP4-Cloner to combine multiple video files into one easily.) Note: The single file length is also limited to 3 hours(CX********)/6 hours(CN********). If the size of the video file has not reached 16GB but the length exceeds the limited hours, it will also generate a new video file.
If your hardware’s S/N is in the format of CA********, the single video file will be 4GB at most if you use a FAT32 USB storage device. Due to the special properties of FAT32, and the recorded video will be split into multiple files. Using exFAT/NTFS USB storage devices, the single recorded file will be 16GB at most.
For S/N that is one of the formats below:
DP********
CP********
CT********
CE********
CB********
The recorded file will not be separated into several 2GB files if the mobile hard disk/USB flash drive is in the NTFS format.
TIPS:
FAT32 format is recommended. Due to the special properties of FAT32, the single video file will be 2GB at most, and the recorded video may be split into multiple segments but more stable (You may use our bonus software MP4-Cloner to combine them into one file easily.).
For NTFS, the recorded video will be stored as a single large file, but will be more prone to error than FAT32, resulting in unsuccessful storage or file corruption. Please contact our customer service for help when you encounter such problems. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you format the USB flash drive to FAT32 in order to get a better experience.
