Why Recordings Are Split¶
The FAT32 file system used by some USB drives and TF cards limits individual file sizes to 4GB. Once the file reaches this limit, the device automatically splits the recording into another file.
To avoid this, it is recommended to use NTFS or exFAT file systems, which support larger file sizes.
How to Fix File Splitting Issues¶
Check the storage format: - If you are using a FAT32-formatted storage device, recordings will be split after reaching 4GB in size.
Reformat to NTFS or exFAT: - To prevent file splitting, format your USB drive, TF card, or external hard drive to NTFS or exFAT. These file systems do not have the 4GB file size limitation. - To reformat, connect the storage device to a computer and use the disk management tool to format it to NTFS or exFAT.
